Reading Museum are preparing an exhibition in homage to all things mod. The exhibition aims to celebrate the explosion of youth cults from the early 60s, specifically mod, a scene the town seems to have had a real affinity with. Subtitled Life Through the Eyes of a 1960’s Mod, they are putting together a collection of artefacts from the era to create what promises to be an authetic look at the modernist movement covering its inception right through to its enduring appeal. It has recently been announced that Fred Perry will be loaning out a bunch of rare vintage clothing and publicity materials from their archives, offering a unique chance to see how the brand has been adopted over the years by Mods of different generations
The exhibition is set to run in at the John Madejski Art Gallery, Reading between April 9 and October 9 2011. More info here.
